At this point we start to emerge from the brush and see some of the more
open spaces on top of the hill. The grade curves to the left before making
the loop back to the right. It looks as though the grade is being used as
part of a dam for water collection. Note the berm just in front of the trees
in the center of the shot. The Thompson House would have been to the right
out of the shot, item 13 on page 332 of RGS XI.
